Firmware updates have become a constant headache for most consumers wanting to use an alternative cartridge source. These updates block compatible/generic ink cartridges forcing the purchase of genuine branded cartridges. Unfortunately in most cases it would be cheaper to buy the printer again with inks than purchase a set of high capacity branded cartridges.

How can i prevent firmware updates?

Make sure automatic updates are turned off for your printer. To do this click on your printer icon and select software update settings, then select never and OK. You then need to make sure everyone who has access to your printer is informed not to click on any Epson pop up. As long as these steps are followed you will not have any issues regarding firmware updates and compatible ink cartridges.

How do i know if i have accepted an update on my Epson printer.

If you use compatible ink cartridges and all of them have been flagged as non genuine or faulty to the point you cannot print, then more than likely you have added an update. If you are still unsure please email us on info@inkworldwide.co.uk we will assist you anyway we can.
